ES6 Promises

Really good post about ES6 Promises at html5rocks:  http://www.html5rocks.com/en/tutorials/es6/promises/  by Jake Archibald. You can learn both what promises are and how they fit into ES6 and DOM. Worth reading.

Ice by Jacek Dukaj

Image
Lód (Ice) is my first novel from Jacek Dukaj. I must say that this is huge and it make big impression on me. I'm looking into wikipedia article right now and I can say that it suits book. What I can add from myself is that book is written with archaic polish mixed with Russian. It's really hard to read and if you add to it that it's more than 1 thousand pages it took me reallllly long to read. I can say it was time well spent :) At first I felt that book has a really long introduction, beginning but it's much more important than I felt. If you're going to read it don't read too fast through first chapters. Rating 9/10.

Javascript Game Foundations - Ten Essentials

Image
Recently Jake Gordon finished last article of his  Javascript Game Foundations - Ten Essentials  and I think those 10 articles with posts about games he created is really good place to learn more about games and how to create them in JavaScript. I'm planning to read them all soon. Right now I'm: reading  http://gameprogrammingpatterns.com/  (at least one chapter a week)  watching  http://kursownik.pl/kursy/html5_canvas/  (beware it's in Polish :) Anyone knows something like kursownik.pl canvas course but for WebGL? Matrix Math? OpenGL maybe? But in POLISH? I think I would learn them faster in polish :)

Santa - game

Image
Today at Schibsted Tech Polska we had today whole day to create our own projects. For me it was new game to learn phaser framework. You can play it at:  http://krzychukula.github.io/santa/dist/ and see sources at:  https://github.com/krzychukula/santa but it is really, really hacky ;) Have fun playing it! :)

Hello Processing - learn to code in one hour

Image
Recently I found little project called Hello Processing that in one hour helps you learn programming and processing. I really liked the feel of this 1 hour course and I get basic idea what processing is about and right now I like it. It's really nice and easy language for drawing on screen. I have no idea how it would be easy to follow with this tutorial if you're new to programming but for me it was really easy and fun. If you are interested visit  http://hello.processing.org/  and see for yourself.

Organized Events: Reading Club  6-th of November Gamedev.js Kraków #2: CreateJS  7-th of November Gamedev.js GameJam Kraków  17-th of November Meet.js Kraków  19-th of November Books: GRYWALIZACJA. Jak zastosować reguły gier w działaniach marketingowych Autor: Paweł Tkaczyk Really good book! It's distilled knowledge about gamification everything connected to it. Mostly things like fun, motivation, types of players and personalities. What is good in this book is that it gives you not only higher perspective but also gives some good ideas that you can use to use gamification in personal life. 9/10 Sezon burz Autor: Andrzej Sapkowski Another good book from the author of The Witcher! First chapters weren't so good but it gets better with every page and at the end you just want more. Rating 8/10. Unity 3.x Game Development Essentials by Will Goldstone I shouldn't rating this book as I read this to broaden my understanding of 3D and tools for
